Another game, another loss. At least we weren't annihilated like last time. Uuuugh, hy do I suck all of a sudden?! The only reason Ravenclaw's score wasn't higher was because they're using third years as their chasers. Speaking of which, ours were on fire! If the match had gone on just a little longer, I think we would have scored again, and might have won despite losing the snitch. Tyler's too good though. I feel bad about forcing Kyle onto the team, I can tell he's not really into it. Whatever, I'm getting them pie, they can suck it up.

Patrick is a saint. Offering to outfit the team like that, wow. It's a good incentive; I've never known anyone to turn down free stuff. I can't believe he's married! I hope he's happy. It was a good party. Damnit, I want a boy.

Tryouts are scheduled. A little later than I'd like, but it was the earliest we could get the pitch. I've heard a spot of interest around the common room. Seems like good people.

Made a good profit today, even with the streets as dead as they are. It's not really warm enough for ice cream yet, but it should be and I couldn't pass up the treat with all that loose change burning a hole in my pocket. Met some interesting folk. Josie, some sulky boy who's name I didn't catch. Nice guitar. Niko turned on the charm for her, got a laugh of out that.

My last summer before I join the workforce. I've got a lot to do. Scope out apartments. Secure a job in said workforce. Be able to afford things. Figure out how to field a team that will not be pasted to the pitch.

I think I'll take a holiday first though. Maybe go fishing. Get far away from sewers that house overgrown goldfish.

IC: Graphorn Attack

Someone released a graphorn on to the grounds. Who could get in barn, let alone with a giant magical rhinoceros, is beyond me. It ran on to the pitch and someone was there to throw up a ward, trapping a handful of us on the field with it. The brooms started failing and there were goats and charging and Meslana - that Hufflepuff set director - got up and pushed it. I don't think Dillion could have budged that thing. And she goes right up and lays hands on it all because Pat said it was a good idea. Because taking Patrick literally is a good idea. Naturally, she gets gored and has to be flown to the infirmary by Johnathan but oh wait there's a ward up. I don't know what would have happened if Connor hadn't been there to take it down. We did pretty well for ourselves, but five teenagers can only hold off something with hide thicker than a dragon's for so long.

Pushing a graphorn, really.

The worst part is, my broom got trampled! I was being so careful too. I don't even know what model the Comet was, the logo had worn off before I even bought it, the broom was that old. But damn it, it was mine and Lord knows I can't afford a new one! But it's either that or ride one of the school brooms which honestly is almost worth the cost.

I'm back where I belong, as Keeper. Kelly's been moved to Seeker so I get my hoops back. :)

The was a lot of shuffling around of positions this year. Losing Linc and JM was a blow to the team, that's for sure. It's going to be even worse next year, losing Jonathan, Niko (Niko? WTF? Yeah, that was my response too), Pat, and Kelly. Graduating players is part of school-level competition, but most of the time half the entire bloody team doesn't leave at once. We should start training a seeker now. Heck, we should start training a whole reserve squad so we'll be more than a bye next year.

Who cares though, seekers may win games, but keepers win Quidditch cups.

Naturally, grades came out while we were trapped in a mirror dimension-portal-whatever. They found their way into the hands of my father first, of course, before I had a chance to inspect them and find a way to break the news easily.

And boy, could they have been broken a lot easier than when I've been missing for three days. They could have been better too, that might have helped.

Only one O, and not even in CoMC, that's not good. Dropping some classes might help because I won't be spread so thin, but I've really got to get them up. Damn, I don't feel like coming up with a back-up life plan if the ministry thing doesn't pan out. Playing my sax on the street is not a career I want.

It's so good to be back at Hogwarts. The castle has really become more home than Aunt Maeve's farm. I slept for most of the train ride. Only saw Pat and some first years right at the end when he tied my tie for me. There's got to be a spell for that. I don't remember whatever happened to those first years. They all look alike until they're sorted.

Met one of them today, Kat. Cute kid. I wish I was that cute as a first year; I started all gangly and awkward. Was a little snappish to her because of all the work they've thrown at me. I should have listened when upper years warned me. OWL year is hell. I told her I would take her down for Open Barn next week. Hopefully she can control herself. Seemed a little fidgety.

Had a delightful chat with Cathal after my run (new personal record- 3:42!). Nothing important, just chatter. It was fun though, he's a good kid.

But really. OWLs suck.
